The implications of early professional learning for schools and local authorities C O LIN SM ITH
There are implications from the Early Professional Learning project for research, theory and practice. This chapter focuses on the latter, with the aim of helping both schools and local authorities to look at their own practice in the light of these implications. The bulk of the chapter focuses on schools (inevitably since the research was carried out within them). The issue for local authorities here is to consider how best to support schools in working through these implications. A few implications specific to local authorities are considered at the end of the chapter.
