ABSTRACT

Figure 1 show the procedure of making liquefaction map. This procedure consists of 1) soil layer estimation and 2) making liquefaction map. At the first step, a 3D ground model is made by the authors (Tanaka et al., 2007) Then precise liquefaction analysis in one dimension is conducted using a soil column cut out from the 3D ground model, where the depths of sandy and clay sub soils and bed rock layers are modeled precisely. Only this method could evaluate the liquefaction damages to the depth precisely, which will lead to the risk management regarding to liquefaction. This paper presents the abstract of method and an example of results of liquefaction map at Kochi harbor. Particularly, for the evaluation of liquefaction, a program code of SHAKE is used to compute one dimensional seismic response against the input strong motions in Japan.
