Therefore, the application of pile foundation to Geo-wall, ‘‘Piled Geo-wall’’, as shown in Figure 2, has been studied from a dynamic centrifuge (25G) test and its numerical simulations.

In this study, the assumption concerning interaction between pile and Geo-wall that reinforced soil structure with high ductility can transmit the lateral force to the pile foundation, as shown in Figure 3, is confirmed, and a design method that can reproduce the interaction behavior is proposed. The interaction behavior between pile and Geo-wall and its numerical simulation as well as the results of the dynamic centrifuge model test are described in this paper.
