ABSTRACT
In Hokkaido, there are over 40 Quaternary volcanoes, and pyroclastic materials cover over 40% of its area. The big volcanic activities were generated from the Neogene over the Quaternary period, and various pyroclastic materials such as volcanic ash, pumice and scoria have been formed during those eruption.
