ABSTRACT
Cross-pollinations between sf and music encompass a rich variety of forms and media. These typically symbiotic relationships can be found among artists and songs that incorporate sf themes, in the importance of music in sf movies, television, and videogame soundtracks, and in the influence of futurism on musical styles, genres, and technology. However, despite the numerous musical works and artists inspired by sf and the significant role of music in sf, scholars have largely not recognized the importance of the relationship between these two modes of entertainment.
