ABSTRACT
Such is the interest in drug misuse that almost everybody has an opinion on the right way to deal with it. Unsurprisingly, these opinions differ widely and range through ‘war on drugs’ rhetoric to outlandish claims for the success of specific interventions. What might be the implications of this wide range of views for attempts to reach a consensus on best practice or even standard practice?
