Groups are prevalent in society. In fact, we live and work in groups. at is what makes group work in counseling exciting. While many types of groups exist, the counseling profession historically has utilized group work for therapeutic purposes. More recently, counseling group work has been recognized in more far-reaching arenas, such as schools, organizations, and teams. Group supervision of counselors is no exception and poses a viable alternative and/or supplement to individual supervision.
