ABSTRACT
Teachers can learn from students’ performance through assessments or through research. Assessments can become part of the data collection of their research project. This chapter includes two sections. The first one gives suggestions of how teachers can assess students and how assessment can be embedded in instruction. The second section outlines how a teacher can carry out a research project while implementing a teaching approach. An example of a teacher research project with one of the approaches featured in this volume is also included.
