ABSTRACT
Policy space can be defi ned in different ways depending on context. In this chapter we focus on policy space defi ned as the freedom, scope, and mechanisms that governments have to choose, design, and implement public policies to fulfi ll their aims. Our concern is with how globalization and the processes that comprise it are infl uencing the availability of such space.
