ABSTRACT

E-tourism refers to the activities undertaken on the Web and on mobiles by consumers dealing with travel inquiries and decisions. E-tourism covers all electronically mediated activities carried out by consumers from their very fi rst intention to get away up to their return. This large spectrum of e-tourism implies that e-tourists are not merely Internet shoppers but that they are more generally Internet surfers, whether they surf on the Web or through mobiles. Consequently, tourism Web sites and mobile services are regularly and strikingly challenged by consumers who request products, services, information, and guidance at every stage of their vacation process: future traveler, traveler, vacationer on the spot, and posttraveler.
