ABSTRACT

A brief background to the Groupwork Project is presented. However, the reader should refer to previous works for a detailed background to the project (Doel & Sawdon, 1995, 1999a, 1999b, 2002). This chapter focuses on the way in which social workers’ groupwork skills are assessed as part of the agency’s program of career progression and continuing professional development, and the diversity of groups and groupwork which the program encompasses.
