ABSTRACT
The advent of digital technology makes new ways of sharing resources possible for the benefit of learning, teaching, and research. The once distinct walls of individual repositories of knowledge are blurring or completely disappearing as libraries, archives, and other historical, cultural, and educational institutions are able to combine resources for virtual access while still maintaining individual ownership.
