ABSTRACT

To this point, the bulk of this book has focused on the use of the EBC process by an individual consultant (see Chapter 3) or as part of school-based problem-solving team (see Chapter 7). Recently, the development and implementation of Response to Intervention (RTI; VanDerHeyden & Burns, 2010) has been occurring across states and school districts (Sullivan & Long, 2010). This model of service delivery has implications for consultation in schools, especially with the use of multidisciplinary teams in RTI. It is notable, however, that the EBC process can be integrated into the RTI process. The purpose of this chapter is to describe how EBC can be implemented within RTI, using a case example.
