Virtual flagships and sociable media

In this chapter we address the relationships between the flagship concept and networked digital media. Our investigation draws attention to the social, or sociable, aspects of flagships. The flagship is primarily a meeting place, a landmark around which people and activities gather, in physical spaces and now the spaces of new media.
