ABSTRACT
There are groups who don’t agree with the ELCA Church Council. One such group, Solid Rock Lutherans, is an organization formed with the mission: “To call the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America to remain faithful to the Word of God according to the Lutheran Confessions.” Solid Rock’s Web site stated: “We are dedicated to upholding the current biblical and confessional standards on sexual conduct and ordination. We believe that the Word of God affirms the union of woman and man in the bonds of marriage and that only those who are guided by this Word be considered for ordination.”
