ABSTRACT
The man who preached at Mary Albing’s installation at LCCR, Darold H. Beekmann, is a retired ELCA pastor and former bishop of the Southwest Minnesota Synod. It is a synod in a conservative rural area where tradition and family values are less likely to change than in the more progressive metropolitan regions of Minnesota. Darold also served as president at the Lutheran Seminary in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.
