ABSTRACT
While the assessment for malingering is a standard part of the neuropsychological evaluation in forensic cases, malingering is not limited to such cases. In one form or another, the assessment of suboptimal effort must be part of every neuropsychological evaluation. Other chapters in this book illustrate the breadth of conditions in which such assessment plays a crucial role in the accurate conceptualization of the patient’s clinical status.
