Welcome to the Neighborhood?: The Persistence of Discrimination and Segregation
As a premise, we do not accept as meaningful the term integration exhaustion because we believe there has been no signifi cant residential integration in the United States. As an alternative, we believe people may be weary of the talk about America’s commitment to integration without an accompanying set of actions with which to achieve it, or that people may be weary of the concept of integration that only involves moves by people of color to predominantly White neighborhoods. But to be exhausted by integration itself is impossible.
