ABSTRACT

Brazil is not typically associated with Latin American culture because of a language difference with its neighbors. Having been colonized by Portugal, Brazil’s official language is Portuguese. With the exception of language, however, Brazil and Spanish Latin America share other historical and cultural similarities: European colonization, a native indigenous culture, a history of slavery, African ancestry, and an important spiritual legacy. Brazil, considered by its people to be the heart and soul of the world, believes it will lead the world in its healing and spiritual evolution.
