Pages 3

Here’s another one of those tales told time and again. There was once a merchant who had an exceptionally lovely daugh-ter, more beautiful than any maiden the world had ever seen, and he loved her very much. This merchant kept his shop in the center of the piazza, while his private residence was on a street away from the piazza. This father’s love for his daughter was so great that he couldn’t let an hour go by without closing his shop and going home to see her.
