The Enchanted Horse—Lu cavaddu ’nfatatu

Once upon a time there was a father who had three sons. Since deathwas approaching, the father wanted to make out his will. He left hishorns to the eldest, his property to the middle son, and his chest of money to the youngest. When the two older sons heard the will, they wanted to have it annulled because they thought they had been wronged, but the lawyer convinced them that their father intended to include all the cattle with the horns, and all his fields with his property so they had nothing to complain about. Persuaded by the lawyer’s words, they were satisfied, but they still kept a jealous eye on their younger brother.
