ABSTRACT
This section is informed by one of the newest areas of academic study of the Gothic: the exploration of location and of national tradition. Loosely speaking, it represents an attempt to map out the geographies of Gothic fiction through an emphasis on the countries and regions it originates from and/or depicts. In doing so, it hopes to demonstrate both the global diversity of anglophone forms of the Gothic and some of the features that these diverse texts share.
