This chapter looks at interest group communication focusing, in particular, on the issues affecting new social movement campaigns. The changing political landscape, evolving media environment and widespread professionalisation of campaigning, have presented new campaign opportunities to contemporary interest groups. However, the changes have also left such groups with a number of strategic choices to make which, in turn, present a number of dilemmas and potential pitfalls.
