ABSTRACT

Weakness and fatigue are two of the most common complaints of patients with a wide range of diseases and they are also common concerns of athletes who are training or recovering from injury. Muscle function testing is often an important aid to diagnosis and can also play a valuable role in assessing the extent of a problem and, in many cases, the progress of recovery and return to full function. For a more extensive introduction to muscle physiology and pathology see, Jones et al. (2004) and McComas (1996).
