ABSTRACT

Details of prepared specimens are as shown in Fig. 1 using the design mix with W/C ratio of 0.70 (Cement; 247 kg/m3, Water; 173 kg /m3), sand coarse aggregate ratio of 0.50 and NaCl mixed according to the required Cl¯ content levels such as 0, 600, 1200 and 1800 g/m3 All specimens are reinforced with rust-free reinforcing bars with 2 cm cover and the proposed corrosion inhibiter is coated on the nearest face to the reinforcement. An accelerated corrosion test is then conducted in four cycles using the alternate immersion and autoclave technique.
