ABSTRACT
The surfaces of some concrete structures such as pavements, industrial floors or some interior parts of silos may be exposed to mechanical, mechanical-chemical or mechanical-thermal attack. As a consequence the surface regions of such concrete structures may be damaged particularly by abrasion. In extreme cases abrasion may even lead to the complete exposure of the reinforcement. Thus, not only the serviceability but also the structural integrity of such elements is endangered.
