ABSTRACT
The demands to be met by modern man-made structures today are becoming increasingly diversified. In addition to the actual use, architectural viewpoints play an ever greater role. In the field of bridge construction these facts are nowadays demonstrated by structures which are becoming increasingly audacious. This is particularly evident in the greater span widths of bridges.
