The Spirit of National Socialism and Its Destiny

My initial hypothesis is that National Socialism is in no way an abhorrent or incomprehensible phenomena, but that it is inscribed, in perfectly rigorous fashion, in the so-called spiritual history of Germany. Only a historico-philosophical interpretation can provide access to National Socialism in its essence, to what singles it out amongst other analogous phenomena in the first half of this century (which, for convenience’s sake, can be called ‘totalitarianisms’) and makes of it an exception.
