Deterioration of concrete structures due to chloride attack causes corrosion of steel bars in concrete by chloride ion penetration. Corrosion of steel bars is very important problem, decreasing structural performance of concrete structures. Therefore, for suitable maintenance of port and harbor concrete structures, it is necessary to establish the method by which conditions of corrosion of steel bars can be inspected. Measurements of half-cell potential and polarization resistance are electro-chemical nondestructive inspection methods of corrosion of steel.
