Applications in Japan and South East Asia
In Japan high strength concrete was first achieved as early as the 1930s. For example, Yoshida reported in 1930 that high strength concrete with 28-day compressive strength of 102 MPa was obtained. "his result was obtained by a combination of compression and vibration processes without chemical or mineral admixtures. This isolated development was not followed by systematic development in the production and use of high strength concrete till the mid 1960s.
