The Donnelly Production System: Lean at Grand Haven
Donnelly Mirror is a family-owned business founded in 1905 in Holland, Michigan by Bernard Donnelly and has grown to become the worlds largest supplier of automotive mirrors. It has long been known as a pioneer in human relations. For example, m December 1972, at a national conference in Chicago on "The Changing Work Ethic," Donnelly was billed as "the country's outstanding example of worker participation in job decisions. Workers, who are all on salary, decide how fast to run the production line, when to shut it down, and the size of their own pay increases."
