ABSTRACT
Technology has triggered manifold and disparate changes in society, especially throughout the last two decades. However, one of the technological innovations appeared during this period has enormously changed the day-to-day of society. In this regard, one of the biggest shifts has been the arrival and integration of the Internet on citizenship’s daily activities. From mid-1990s, the continuous developments and new uses of the World Wide Web have made numerous human tasks easier, and most of the times by supplying vast available amounts of information and data to be looked up. In this chapter, we will review the technological network of today’s society as well as the transition from the analogue era to the present time, in where intelligent automation is beginning to have a leading role in many of the communicative processes.
