ABSTRACT

In this present world, a lot of valuable natural resources are depleted for manufacturing products in order to meet the rising demand of the increasing population. As a result, in future, the industries may find it very difficult to manufacture the products due to the scarcity of raw materials. In this regard, researchers and industrialists around the globe have to join hands together to find an alternate method like recycling or utilizing low-cost reinforcement materials in preparing useful raw materials. In this work, aluminum metal matrixes composite was prepared by reinforcing discarded tea extract ash and coconut shell ash. Scanning electron microscope and EDAX test were used to characterize and study the morphology and chemical composition of the reinforcements used in this work for preparing the aluminum metal matrix composite. The mechanical properties of the prepared composite materials, like hardness and wear test, were conducted tested in order to investigate the influence of the reinforcement particles on the performance of the aluminum metal matrixes composite. 236From the experimental results, it was observed that increasing the reinforcement content increases the hardness and also tends to improve the resistance to wear rate.
