ABSTRACT

More sport companies are using analytics and statistics as a way of distinguishing themselves in the marketplace. Due to the increased technological capabilities of sport companies they can now use analysis techniques to find out information about their players and team performance. This helps increase overall performance but at the same time requires increased management capabilities. The aim of this chapter is to focus on understanding the role of SAS, IBM, STATS PERFORM, Blue Star Sports and Deltatre in progressing the sport industry through analytics and statistics.
