ABSTRACT

Technology adaptation and enhancement is currently important strategies. The integration of information of technology with all types of business processes enables organizations to run smoothly and connect anywhere in the world. The human resource information system (HRIS) is an integration of technology with the human resource processes, starting from human resource planning, recruitment, and selection, training and development, to compensation management and all types of data management associated with it. It helps to respond quickly and accurately with reduced cost. Even though the implementation of HRIS is widespread, there are many challenges faced by organizations, which are described in this chapter. A HRIS is an innovative strategy to the organization as it leads to creating a changing environment of technology in the organization and updating it with the evolved technology. This chapter will describe the historical evolution of the concept of HRIS and the issues related to them. It is a theoretical perspective related to the HRIS. This chapter will help to identify the areas of research needed in implementing HRIS in an organization and the achievement of business intelligence.
