ABSTRACT
As a part of the future motorway Bregana – Zagreb – Dubrovnik, section Žuta Lokva – Licˇko Lešc´e there is a tunnel Brezik with approximate length of 400 m (Figure 1). Tunnel is located in western suburban area of the town Otocˇac, at an altitude of 450 m. Maximum overburden was 38 m. Tunnel excavation has been performed in full profile, with 2 driving lanes, one for each driving direction. Excavation works began at south portal in midst of April 2003, and both tunnel pipes have been broken through at the beginning of year 2004. Average advance rate was 1.5 m per day for each pipe. Average excavated cross section varied
from 74.3 to 85.6 m2, which depended on rock mass category.
