ABSTRACT: T.R.&T (Tubular Roof & Trench) method has been invented for safety and effectiveness on underground construction, then, applied to some projects recently. In this research, the practical site where T.R.&T method was applied is selected and dynamic response was analyzed by 2-dimensional numerical analyses. The behavior of T.R.&T under seismic excitement is important because it is constructed near ground surface normally and composed of various sizes of steel pipes which means enormous differences of stiffness. It may cause tremendous ground amplification and stress concentration at the connection part of steel pipes. Therefore, it is necessary to examine the general behavior and seismic performance of T.R.&T structure under troublesome ground conditions such as fault zone and highway underpass. Stress concentration and displacement occurrence trends are investigated thoroughly in those two cases Consequently, case study on practical sites showed the weak part of T.R.&T structure under dynamic loading and characteristics of seismic behaviors.
