Endoscopic shelf acetabuloplasty with a free bone graft harvested from the ipsilateral iliac crest, with two parallel 1.5-mm Kirschner wires combined with labral repair, has significantly improved the results preoperatively to postoperatively. Endoscopic shelf acetabuloplasty can address hip dysplasia in athletes also, with 90% of patients returning to sports-related activity in a mean period of 9 months postoperatively.
