ABSTRACT

Understanding the biomechanics of the hip is extremely important to understand the dynamics of gait in standing and walking phases and osteotomies around the hip joint with respect to body weight and the function of abductor muscles at the hip. Forces exerted by muscles during all movements of the hip joint and when weakness occurs on one side compensating for movement of the body may change the direction of the load, transferring forces further down the kinetic chain to other joints.
