Developing Solution Focused games

WithIan Smith

Games and playful ideas are increasingly being used as effective tools in learning. This chapter, based on a workshop run at the 2017 SF world conference, explores how games are also suited to assisting Solution Focused change intervention work with both adults and children. Games can be used both to help clients think about issues in a Solution Focused way, and can operate in many of the same ways that Solution Focused conversations do. Example game ideas for the workshop are presented and discussed, alongside a system to help the reader begin to develop their own Solution Focused game ideas.
