ABSTRACT
According to a prophetic vision widely shared by many religions, we all belong one to another, everyone of on the planet. Additionally, the ancient prophetic vision teaches us that peace is not merely the absence of conflict but, as well, the presence of justice. Only by coming to grips with this reality will humankind be able to fulfill the prophetic vision of human unity, to evolve a new planetary ethos of human solidarity. But as true believers in the prophetic vision we must accept, as Eleanor Roosevelt taught, that “it is better to light a candle than to curse the darkness.” It is of course when people are grasped by the power of love that we have the greatest chance of changing evil, the greatest chance of fulfilling the prophetic vision of human unity. A final point to underscore about the ancient prophetic vision is that it took the future seriously, never forgetting its goal.
