It reviews the tortuous path of the Uruguay Round of GATT negotiations as it tried to resolve US-E.C. global agricultural trade conflicts. The chapter addresses the evolution of the US-E.C. trade conflict in the context of the changes in domestic policies. It presents a brief overview of the evolution of the complex set of economic and political relations in the North Atlantic scene in the post-World War II period.
