ABSTRACT

After the Second World War, German science, which had either been hampered or even interrupted in its development by Hitler, also received valuable impulses from Harvard. During the last thirty years many German scientists were able to work at this university and take home new ideas, both in their respective fields and for teaching and research in general. Peace is the central and prime concern of our German overall policy. The emancipation of the Third World in general is a multifaceted force of great complexity that changes the world. The developing countries have become more self-confident. They have learned how to act independently in the world's political arena where they actively stand up for their interests. As one state of the divided German nation, placed at the interface between East and West, the Federal Republic of Germany has a specific contribution to make to detente.
