ABSTRACT

Patients need to know how to achieve desired therapeutic effects and how to sustain them. Much of the industry-wide system for choosing cannabis or cannabis-based products is based on the assumed therapeutic qualities of cannabis’s main species, sativa and indica, a distinction that has informed choices. Environmental signals such as temperature, nutrition, and quality of light will initiate specific changes in genetic expressions without changing the plant’s genome or DNA. Mental and emotional effects can differ widely from those of chemotype-I cannabis strains. Many chemotype II-using patients describe the differences in term of medium relaxation with a light sensation of feeling high, accompanied by a sense of uplift in mood, mild euphoria, an easy smile, a calmness of spirit, serenity, or tranquility. The academic world continues to generate excitement with scientific findings suggesting efficacy of cannabis in the treatment of various cancers.
