ABSTRACT

Most cannabis testing has been conducted for quality control (QC) purposes in order to verify the cannabinoids, especially the psychoactive delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol and the non-psychoactive cannabidiol, are present in high concentrations. While QC laboratories continue to grow in the field of cannabis testing, research and development is gaining more popularity at universities and pharmaceutical companies. The cannabis industry is seeing a similar trend. At related expositions, chefs often present lessons on food/cannabis preparation. There are more than 200 terpenes found in the cannabis plant and more than 30,000 found in nature according to some estimates. When discussing cannabis cultivars, often referred to as strains, the discussion often involves the cannabinoids and the terpenes. Heart disease is the leading cause of death worldwide but it may be reduced with hemp seeds. Hemp is part of the cannabis sativa family. Raw cannabis contains essential amino acids, which can repair damaged cells, transport nutrients, and maintain cell structure.
