ABSTRACT

A 28-year-old female presents with a history of rectal pain and fecal urgency. She has had three vaginal deliveries without significant obstetric trauma. She describes an “electric” type of rectal pain that comes and goes. She will suddenly have an urge to have a bowel movement and will barely make it to the restroom. She has fecal incontinence with soiling several times per week. Currently, she is taking glycerin suppositories as needed.
