ABSTRACT
We study the problem of smoothing a discrete set of data values corresponding to points arbitrarily scattered in a bounded area. Hereby data reduction is an important issue and the approximation s(x,y) should satisfy some additional conditions such as convexity constraints, boundary conditions, etc.
