ABSTRACT

Existing nitrogen oxide (NOx) control systems cannot be used exclusively for all purposes. Commonly used dry systems such as selective catalytic reduction (SCR), selective noncatalytic reduction (SNCR), and combustion modi-ƒcations require speciƒed conditions. In particular, the right temperature is required for SNCR (900-1,000°C) and SCR (270-400°C). Wet systems have the drawbacks of expensive chemical addition, high water usage, and excessive hazardous sludge production (Rhoads et al., 1990).
