ABSTRACT

Currently, haptic interfaces design and interactions based on haptic interfaces have been actively studied (Hwang and Hwang, 2011; Pasquero, 2006). In order to improve haptic interfaces and interactions based on haptic interfaces, many researchers have tried to develop haptic icons (Brewster and Brown, 2004; MacLean and Enriquez, 2003; Rovers and Van Essen, 2004). Haptic icons mean icons, from which users can intuitively perceive information, based on haptic stimuli. Haptic icons are often compared to visual icons that are used in GUI systems and auditory icons that are named earcons.
