ABSTRACT

Reconstruction and simulation of time dependent flight path for aircraft accident is described through a process known as the forensic engineering. The forensic engineering is an application of scientific and engineering knowledge to a legal matters, such as accident reconstruction. Simulation of aircraft accident dynamics makes use of mathematical modelling. Usually in flight path reconstruction, aircraft is considerated as a rigid body with moving elements of control surfaces. Gyroscopic moment of rotating masses of the power plant is considerated. Equations of motion are established using Newton’s principles of dynamics as well as methods of analytical mechanic (for example Boltzmann-Hammel’s equations).
